What?

Elder Fairbanks is getting transferred... :(  transfers stink.

This was a loco week.

The exchange with David was awesome. It was so weird for me. It just was weird. But it made it all real. After a year and a half of telling people they can be with their families for forever, it became even more real to me. My family is my greatest treasure.

David is gonna be a great missionary. I see so much potential in him. I know he will be a special instrument in the hands of God.

iPads are weird. They are so cool though. Contacting is so much more effective. It has its downsides, but it is something so inspired. Hopefully I can learn to not be controlled by technology.

On Thursday morning, we went out to our car and found that the window was broke and my gps was gone. Luckily they didn't take my wallet that was right there. God is good. So we spent Thursday cleaning our car
and apartment. Lame.

Friday, we got our car fixed and did an exchange with the assistants. I got to go with Elder Welburn. He is so wise. It was awesome. Saturday and Sunday we had a bunch of miracles. We got to visit with a member named Edward Ward. He is in a hospital and wanted a blessing. We were with him for a good long while listening to him. He was
hilarious even though he is going to die soon. He taught me two things. 1. He said "don't end up like this." 2. I want to serve people for the rest of my life. I don't know how, but that would be an awesome job.

Sunday, we visited with investigators that we have only taught once and that we haven't seen for 2 weeks. We talked about the husband's life and how they two met. They were super kind and loving. He brought up how he had been reading in the Book of Mormon. We asked him some
questions and we found out that he had read to 2 Ne 25. He said he thinks it is true! He still needs to pray and receive his answer, but it was awesome that he read so much!

It was a great week.

And it's going to be a good week.

Elizabeth

I am sick so... forgive me if its short.

Tuesday we had a little meeting with all of the missionaries in our zone who are going home. It is interesting how much a missionary chooses to change throughout their mission. They are always such powerful teachers and great examples. It makes me think about home and the kind of person I want to be when my day comes.

We did an exchange with one of the companionships in our zone and the one that came with me got food poisoning the day before, so I cleaned up the apartment. It was fun to talk with Elder Allred, the sick missionary, and get to know him a little better. He is super funny and hipster.

We had a huge miracle. Stephanie and Alex's dad is not a member. He didn't want them to be baptized so they haven't been able to be baptized. We met with him on Thursday by surprise. We didn't even mention or hint at baptism, and the daughter brought it up. The dad said they could be baptized next month! It was cool because later he said that he would also like to learn more about what his wife and kids believe in, and maybe one day join the church as well.

I got sick. Saturday morning I woke up with an irritated throat, and then it transferred to my nose, and now I am coughing. I got a blessing from my awesome companion, and I feel a lot better.

So the weekend was super tough because I was just trying to stay awake. But it payed off when we saw 6 of our wonderful investigators come to church. Hopefully they all received inspiration and guidance. We are praying that they feel the Spirit and make changes in their lives.

This is the last week of the transfer. Time is flying. I am so grateful for the time to serve and meet such great people.

So the people to pray for: Joaquin, Stephanie, alex, leo, evelyn (andino family), Conrad, and eric.

And if you have time after all those names, pray that your missionary gets feeling better.

The Atonement and ice cream heal the heart.

"The Atonement and ice cream heal the heart. It's not doctrine... but its pretty darn close." -Sister Bingham

I am going to need to find some ice cream... because I miss you family! Stink. That was so cool seeing you yesterday. My family is the best.

I hope it was a super good day for all you moms. I Love MOMs!

This week was pretty bland compared to yesterday. Monday we went food shopping and that was pretty much it. Pretty lame pday... but not all of them can be loads of fun. Today should be a lot better. I am going to go play soccer. All day. Woot-woot.

We worked super hard to reach our goals this week, but it just seemed like we couldn't get into the groove. I don't know what it was, but this week is going to be better. We are going to blow this area up!

Wednesday we drove elder muro to the doctor because his eye got a super bad infection. He can't see right now because he can't wear his contacts. So I stayed with him for 6 hours in a waiting room. It was the worst. Everything is worked out now, though, so we can return to the work.
Leo is going to be getting baptized in June instead of this Sunday. It was just a little too soon for them, so they want to do it the second or third week of June. It ruins the streak of baptizing every month, but let it be.

So it's been a month since I got here in Elizabeth. Time flies so fast. Conrad is doing super well. He is reading and praying. He didn't come to church sadly, but he was planning on it. He was too tired from staying up late. Silly man. This week we are going to invite him to a baptismal date or we are going to drop him. So this will be an exciting week.

Highlight of my week: seeing my mom.

Next time I talk to you it will be face to face.

I am so stinking excited :)

but I have plenty of time in the mission field. So I am going to use it better than I ever have before.

Keep your missionary in your prayers.

May the Fourth be with you!

Happy Star Wars day!

This week was different. kind of.

Monday we went to the mall. wooohooo.

Tuesday we had district meeting. I got to go to the district meeting of my good friend elder muro. He is awesome.
Wednesday and Thursday were rough. Our appointments juked us and we ended up getting pretty sad after those days. Sometimes its hard to have hope and keep moving forward when you feel that nothing is getting done. but God always makes it up to us.

Sadly, one of the missionaries was really struggling this week. They sent us a text saying they needed us, so we ran over there, literally ran. we spoke to both of them and took them out for ice cream. It's sad that sometimes we are so concerned about helping others that we let it bring us into depression. It is hard to keep that balance between not caring and not accepting the choices of others. I am realizing that sometimes we have too high of expectations of ourselves, when we really don't control the outcome.

Friday we had the Leader Council in Morristown. It was good and long like always, but we have a very inspired president and wife and assistants. I really look up to them all. We went to a dinner appointment, and I ate two big plates. I thought we weren't going to get fed again, so I ate a lot.
Big mistake.

The surprise visit to our friend Jimmy Alvarez's home didn't stop him from giving us a huge plate of rice with beans and meat and eggs. I was super full and then we went to Conrad's. He had made us a huge plate of meatballs, eggs, and noodles and shrimp... and it was too much. I ate half of it and couldn't eat more. I came home so sick. I almost puked...
So what they show in McFarland USA is not a lie.

Leo is on baptismal date for the 17 of May. Please pray for him.
